What is Chiropractic Therapy?
Chiropractic therapy is used to identify and treat subluxations. Subluxation is a term used to describe neurological interference in the body. These interferences can lead to health problems and limit the full potential of your nervous system. We utilize chiropractic care to help promote brain health. When your joints and muscles move better, it allows your body to communicate better with your brain through proprioception. Proprioception is a fancy way of saying joint and muscle feedback to the brain. When your proprioception is working properly, it will naturally inhibit pain and provide better overall function of your body.

There are certain neurological cases where proprioception is so decreased that it causes feelings of imbalance and dizziness. Whiplash is a classic example. Whiplash can damage the muscles in your neck, making it more difficult for your brain to know where your neck muscles are at, therefore leading to dizziness, headaches, and neck tightness.

When the spine and extremities are adjusted, there are less subluxations in the body, and stress on the body is decreased. Stress is one of the main factors that keep a person from healing and recovering. If we can decrease the stress on the body through chiropractic adjustments, we can promote healing.

At Brain Health and Chiropractic, we utilize manual therapy techniques for adjusting, as well as gentle, instrument-assisted techniques for adjusting. We understand that there may be cases where someone may not be comfortable with manual adjustments. We have other techniques to achieve similar results while respecting your comfort level.
